Our best-selling wine, King Frosch semi-sweet Dornfelder is absolutely beautiful with layers of dark berry and forest fruit aromas and flavors. The tannin structure on the wine ensures a dry finish with lingering sweet berry. Perfect served at room temperature or even slightly chilled.
Because of the wine’s ability to hold structure while delivering intense flavor, this ine is ideal on its own. However, it is truly perfect with many different dishes, from spicy ethnic fare to hearty BBQ and picnic foods. Since it is on the sweet side, it also pairs well with your favorite desserts, pies, and pastries. Crafted in stainless steel barrels, there are no “oak” flavors or additives to compete with your food. All natural sweetness is derived solely from the delicious grapes that make the wine.
Dornfelder is a dark-skinned varietal of German origin, created by August Herold at the grape breeding institute in Weinsburg in 1955. A hybrid of the Helfensteiner and Heroldrebe, it is the second most widely grown red grape in Germany.
